You'd think that a big meth bust at a local store would be fodder for this city's daily newspaper, or one of its three alt weeklies, or one of the teevee stations.
Early this month, confidential informants told Greensboro Police Officers that the Phongsavanh Oriental Market at 1810 Coliseum Blvd. was selling meth and operating a gambling room in the back of the store.
Interesting stuff, as is what came next.
But so far, the paid press hasn't touched it.
The Troublemaker owns the story, and he's not waiting for the creaky old media to get on board.
You can see his petition to shut the place down here.
Thank you, Ed.

Sadly, as much as I agree with Ben that the store should be shut down, until there is an actual conviction it can't be shut down on drug charges. Alleged is not the same as convicted. But there are other statutes under which it could be shut down if one were to pursue them. All City Council has to do is pass a resolution.

Sorry Ben, You're wrong again. City Council and City Staff have bent over backwards to help keep it open and if you're read my blog (not linked) you'd understand why.
Ben. I want it closed as much as you do because these same crooks are all over my neighborhood too but this goes higher than you're shooting.
