In a bit of hurry this morning, so may have missed in my quick skim of the new Rhino the part where John corrects his misstatement about the A1 vote in GSO.

Stubborn things, indeed.

Gauger managed to blog about the urban/rural divide yesterday without mentioning how that dynamic played out in the city and county where he edits the daily newspaper. I left my link in the comments.

So who do you think has a better chance of venturing off joining us first, Gauger or Hammer?

There was a story yesterday in the N&R about a vote recount by the BOE . The no A-1 picked up a couple of dozen votes but it still didn't change the final result. A-1 passed in Guilford county . So waht ? Who cares. It is a done deal. Get over it

I agree that story wasn't much of a story -- a very thin margin just got a little thinner.
But the large margin in GSO proper is actual news that should have been reported, and certainly should not have been misreported as it was in the Rhinoceros Times.
I don't think civil rights are something people get over. Instead, they work for a long time -- decades, sometimes centuries -- until justice is served. This election is done, but it will not be the last word on the issue.
