2nd most fondly remembered GSO (or any) concert I've ever been to after the Who in 75. God, those were the days. Forgive me for waxing nostalgic. I am 50 tomorrow.

Mick

I'm Not! Hahahahahahahaha. August 25th!

My first ever was Boston 77 or 78. Sort of remember a dude making a "rope" out of belts and going from upper to lower level or something. Ensuing foot chase ended in a "no see um" collision between pudgy cop going up ramp and said dude sprinting around the outer concourse. BAM!
Had perfect view from across the way. I think. Seems glow sticks were abundant that evening. Pretty cool stuff.

Led Zeppelin toured constantly in the late 60' and early 70's. They played the Greensboro Coliseum in 1972,1975 and 1977. I made it to all three Greensboro shows. The show in Greensboro on May 31, 1977 was the last Led Zeppelin show that I saw. Here is the set list:

Eric, you sound pretty hard core. If you are interested in collecting bootleg concert CD's of highly variable quality, esp Zep, I know a great source.(as if the thought had never occurred to you).

Ed Cone

CP -- think back to that night when Robert Plant led 23K people singing "Happy Birthday" to Bonham - somehow omitted from Eric's list - and imagine it's for you.

And yes, that Who show was one of the best I've ever see, anywhere. I was 13, so it set a pretty high standard for all subsequent performances.

Roch101

My first concert had to wait until the following year.

Steve Harrison

That "happy birthday" thing was pretty cool, Ed. But the part I remember the clearest was JPJ cutting loose on that concert grand piano while Plant sprawled on top of it smoking a joint. Great stuff.

Ed Cone

All nostalgia aside, that is a good clip. Great intro and a nice run starting just before the 2 minute mark.

RecycleBill

I took my first wife to that very same concert... Guess I should have taken someone else.

cheripickr

Maybe you were just dazed and confused.

RecycleBill

Maybe I still am?

Bubba

CP:"Maybe you were just dazed and confused."

Bill: "Maybe I still am?"

You just wanted a women, never bargained for her.....

cheripickr

Hey, hey, what can I do?...

awhoawhoawhoa, hear what I say, I got a woman wanna....

Bubba

Lots of people talk and few of them know.....

cheripickr

Maybe RB needs to go to California. Someone told me there's a girl out there with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair.
