Cinq tableaux de maître ont été volés dans la nuit de mercredi à jeudi au Musée d'art moderne de la Ville de Paris. Il s'agit d'œuvres des peintres Pablo Picasso, Fernand Léger, Henri Matisse, Georges Braque et Amedeo Modigliani, d'une valeur estimée à 500 millions d'euros.

I wonder what the street value of stolen paintings might be -- it's not like you can just take them to Sotheby's to fetch the quoted prices.
If I was an unscrupulous billionaire looking to class up my dacha, I'd bid $50 million for the lot.
