I look forward to visiting the QC's new Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, not least to see the Mario Botta building.
But I'm not sure that calling it "the Southeast's only museum dedicated to 20th-century modern art" quite captures the landscape.
The Becthler's stated focus is somewhat narrower than that, and once we've started qualifying our claims, the Weatherspoon collection (though inclusive of one pre-modern component, and mainly American, and pursuing the contemporary into the current century) probably deserves a mention.
I love Weatherspoon. I can always find several pieces that move me, and the sparse attendance makes those discoveries seem all the more special.

It would be nice of GSO had the corporate and civic leadership to get a wing added to the 'Spoon to showcase its great collection.
