A story I missed in my summer haze: no more non-stop service from GSO to LGA. That sucks a lot.

That was a Western Electric route. There's still GSO-Newark direct, I think.

That route outlived Western Electric by long, long time.
No service to LaGuardia is bad news for this area. The loss will hurt the furniture market, banking and insurance, law, etc., not to mention discretionary travel.
Continental does still fly to EWR.
