Same job, different location.
For some reason when you say "nice new job" it sounds like a jab.
Must be just my simple mind.
I was pondering, in that same simple mind, that if a former city manager experiences a body cavity search in the Charlotte Airport...are the results public record?

Ed Cone

No jab, Tony. Charlotte seems like a promotion.

It must be tiring to be so easily offended.

It's tiresome, for sure.

The GPD and city government have been total trainwrecks ever since Wray left his post. I'm not saying his removal has anything to do with the bureaucratic and ethical failures, all of which are monumental and comical, but it must be nice to read stories of Greensboro's "Albatross" and smile at your current situation.

Charlotte is a huge promotion. Greensboro takes itself too seriously. If it weren't for Fayetteville, it would be North Carolina's armpit.

TL

Unless you've lived there and actually know of what you speak (which I somehow doubt), lighten up on Fayetteville. Which does not take itself too seriously and is far better for it.

Ed Cone

To be clear, the promotion to which I referred was from heading security at three regional airports in Tennessee.

Greensboro's a nice place, especially to raise a family. It's got its share of problems, as most places do.

Except for the possibility that if he was living in Chattanooga before taking the Charlotte job, he now has to leave Chattanooga for, well, Charlotte. That is clearly a step backwards in terms of quality of life, but maybe the new job pays well.

Hugh

Does anyone know the status of Wray's suit against the city and Mitch? Haven't heard anything in a while.

Hugh

He can live in Tryon which is halfway in between and has a very nice quality of life.

Bledsoe is said to be ecstatic.

Could it be our hero is closing in for his attack on Greensboro? His triumphant return? I'm sure "city leaders" are wishing his new appointment were a bit farther to the wast.

I first met David when both of us were still in high school. Later I knew him as a tough and honest cop who ticketed me when I had it coming and warned me when I was close but not quite over the line.

Later, I worked with David (and a hundred more GPD officers) while working for a company that provided services to GPD.

The last time I talked with David it was over lunch with several local bloggers-- while several came to the table skeptical of Chief Wray I believe everyone left there as his supporters.

Bravo Bill.
The feds must not read the News & Racial.
