Carniceria El Mercadito wins another fan. I had the tacos con pollo today, as I often do, and it was a near-religious experience.

Loved it Ed, loved it... the moment you posted it, we had to get there.... it was just so tough to divert from Moe's... but I'm glad we did.... We're going to hit there on the weekend for carnitas..... can't wait...

I bought some excellent gorditas there on Monday, when I was also buying some pork and chorizo from the butcher's counter. While at the taco window, I ran into an employee of Cafe Europa, who wanted to buy some seviche so that his boss could "see what the real stuff was like" (I'm guessing this means that he wasn't happy with what Cafe Europe had been serving as seviche!). Unfortunately, they told him that they only have seviche on Saturdays.
