Ugh. I hate these shows. Trouble is, my partner loves them and claims they are "full of home improvement ideas."
I say they create housing envy and perpetuate the need to have more possessions and living space than one really needs. But they are a boon to the advertisers who sell those possessions.
Forget keeping up with the Joneses. Now there are Jones, Smiths, Jacksons and others on TV that we have to keep up with! Be sure to wear your running shoes.

Quentin Crisp had the best advice: "Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper."
