When I first heard this song on the radio; I thought, "Hey a new song by the "Ides of March".

RBM

Sound similarity:
in the case of some of their tunes like "Vehicle":

many listeners thought it was Blood, Sweat and Tears (which was still popular at the time) playing because of similarities with the vocals and brass arrangement. This is particularly true because the brass riff in "Vehicle" is almost note for note a copy of the riff in the Al Kooper song "More Than You'll Ever Know".

They get a pass since they were originally named for a utility (Chicago Transit Authority), not a place. :-)

As a trombone player, I was mad for 'em. Until Terry Kath did himself in - after that... meh.
