WSJ: "Former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker, the latest big name to endorse Sen. Barack Obama, could give the Illinois Democrat a boost by lending his gravitas in the financial world to a presidential candidate whose biggest hurdle is to convince voters he is experienced enough."
I spoke to a Democrat I know yesterday, she told me she spontaneously gave $100 to Obama when she saw his ad on her Yahoo! page. She's sick of the status quo, and sees him as a fresh choice -- the JFK analogy suggested by the Kennedy endorsements was surprisingly meaningful to her -- and she says some friends she describes as "thinking Republicans" are leaning Obama's way, too...
I heard Brad and Britt saying Obama is not a "change" candidate. I'm not sure I quite get that one. Yes, he's a United States Senator, Harvard Law grad, etc., so that's membership in the establishment, but he's also a black man and someone who strikes a definite next-gen chord. I don't think a lot of people (in electoral terms) are looking for Ron Paul-style change, they want the system we have to work better for more people. To me, Obama's the change agent in the field.
Meanwhile, this Obama news is not about small change.
