David Craft in the Business Journal:
Future generations will applaud our efforts to see the Haw River State Park develop into its full potential. I cannot see anyone saying that about the development proposed by Bluegreen.
The choice is clear: Do we support a private and gated golf course community, or a fully developed Haw River State Park?
More at the Citzens for Haw River State Park blog, which could use a link to the group's website, and maybe some of the nice pictures on display there, too.
The exponential population growth is the single greatest challenge that we as a community face. These population increases challenge our basic values and natural resources. The solutions that we set in motion today will be our legacy. I support David Craft and his efforts for the Haw River State Park in its entirety. The public purchase of land will slow urban sprawl thus encouring infill development while not infringing on individual property rights.
