Doug Clark at the D3 meeting. People in Greensboro want cops/public safety, open and accountable government, and checks on sprawl/developer-driven policy.
Seems reasonable enough to me. Anyone listening?
Total online responses I could find from D3 and at-large candidates: 0.
It's early in the day, people have other obligations...but after two district meetings, we still have not seen one word from candidates in response. What the hell is going on with these would-be representatives of the people?
UPDATE: Joe Wilson posts a note on the meeting.
"......but after two district meetings, we still have not seen one word from candidates in response. What the hell is going on with these would-be representatives of the people?"
It might have helped if the candidates had been able to RESPOND to the questions raised at the D3 meeting. They were not.
As a matter of fact, both the public and the candidates in attendance at that meeting had expected a totally different format, and were less than pleased to encounter the format used.

I was at the D1 and D3 meeting. I made a comment last night at 10:22 after the D3 meeting ended. (Check it out ) I have possible solutions to most of the questions raised at both meetings and hope that you read my position paper at sidneygray.blogspot.com

The format was explained in the paper, and again on various blogs after the D1 meeting. I can understand why candidates and voters may have been frustrated, but not why they were surprised.

I was there, where was the City Council?

"The format was explained in the paper, and again on various blogs after the D1 meeting."
Perhaps many people don't read the newspaper thoroughly, nor do they read every thread on every blog, assuming they read blogs at all.
Perhaps the newspaper needed to make the information more clear.

"I was there, where was the City Council?"
Perhaps they didn't read/understand the format.

I still would like to know why D1 and D3?
D5 also has a primary if that played a part in the formation of this project.
Of course D1 is mostly black and D3 is mostly white. That's usually the basis of existence at the News & Record.

Ed, you caught me napping I had written about it just not posted yet .I think it was an excellent opportunity to hear from the citizens .
I feel like my message mirrors the one the people are sending. all in all it was just great to see people involved in their own destiny in Greensboro for a change. Very valid point on the question about incumbents, they were probably just over confident... again
