N&R cites this blog in its package on the One Guilford program, excerpting my nice words about the keynoter, who was good but had nothing specific to say about Guilford itself; I would have probably gone with something else: This often felt more like an encounter group than a discussion of leadership. We heard, more than once, that Guilford County is great and one of the things that makes it great is the great people who live here, and so on...The very existence of the project, and the broad attendance and high-level keynote, were all positive signs. If today was the whole thing, it would be a feel-good moment and perhaps some food for thought. What happens next is what matters.
We think people are forgetting about the most important and impressive thing about the meeting - the totally kick-butt umbrellas that were given out.

Not only do they kick-butt, but they're purple and noticeable. What a great marketing idea but that's Nido.
