Lou Dobbs: The Next Don Imus.

"It is an indication that certain political views, mostly of a conservative nature, are being put into the same category as the Don Imus racist joke that got him fired from CBS Radio and MSNBC. The threat of political censorship in America has never been more real than it is today. And Dobbs isn’t the only target."

Coming soon: Fun and Games with the Fairness Doctrine.

Dave Neiwert had a series of several posts dissecting Lou Dobbs in detail a couple of weeks ago.

Congrats, Bora.

Bubba, it will come as no surprise that I can't get behind you on this one. Perhaps scared WASPs deserve a champion. Dobbs could move the cause forward were he an actual journalist and not just another camera-loving narcissist.

Conflating Dobbs with Imus is silly. Imus didn't have an agenda.

Bubba

Keep your eyes and ears closed if you want.....the parallels are there for the seeing and hearing.

I listened to Neal Boortz this morning go into a dervish over the prospect of a renewed Fairness Doctrine. Dobbs is a hack and hopefully will be canned long before any lions, tigers or bears appear.

The only reason why the Fairness Doctrine scares Boortz and company is that he and others on the right know they've had the airwaves pretty much all to themselves for the past seven years (or more). Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Boortz, Savage, Ingrahm and others have pounded the right's agenda for years and now comes the prospect that radio stations might actually have to offer opposing views. Oh no! Can't have that!

He pointed out that the local stations would become targets for enforcement. It could be very interesting.

Of course, this is off-topic, but involves no ad hominems and my be allowed.

It smells better in here.

Wait, wasn't this a post about some serious factual inaccuracies by Dobbs?

You don't think there's a connection between Dobbs/Imus and the prospect of a renewed Fairness Doctrine?

Meanwhile....

Because most on the Dem/Lefty/"Progressive" side can't compete in the brodcast media.

That's been proven time and again.

Come to think of it, they can't really compete here in the local blogosphere either, despite an advantage of numbers.

Bubber, Bubber, Bubber. Don't tell me you won't enjoy moveon.org et al demanding equal time. It was fun, but the party's over. Time for wine and cheese.
