NYT: "Two bloggers hired by John Edwards to reach out to liberals in the online world have landed his presidential campaign in hot water for doing what bloggers do — expressing their opinions in provocative and often crude language."
So the story has jumped to the corporate media, which means that even under the old rules the campaign can't ignore it: "Mr. Edwards’s spokeswoman, Jennifer Palmieri, said Tuesday night that the campaign was weighing the fate of the two bloggers."
Meanwhile, an Edwards diarist addresses the "blogger hullabaloo," and commenters join the conversation.
Ridiculous.
They were not working for him. Is the new rule that you can;t work in politics if you ever wrote anything controversial? If so, why does McCain get to hire disgusting ad people without a blip on the MSM radar?
It "migrated" to the mainstream media because The Catholic League, as radically conservative organization with absolutely no love for John Edwards or any liberal Democrat, took a shot at him (complete with disingenuous "nice" words about Edwards himself).
If Edwards is a good man, he should be judged on his onw merits, not what one of his employees has written while not working for him.
