Tom Schaller: Winning without the South.
More here.
It's a mistake to see "the South" as monolithic. North Carolina is not Mississippi or South Carolina. It would be foolish to cede this state to the GOP.

Ed,
How do you hold down your day job and service the Democratic Party simultaneously?

Unfortunatley, when it comes to president, North Carolina is very much like Mississippi. The last time either went for a Democratic nominee was thirty years ago.

I've got plenty of advice for the GOP and the LP, too.
It's called multitasking.

I dunno... Clinton came pretty close in 1992. The difference was 0.79%. I'm just sayin'.... I think Ed is right, don't write us off.
And fortunately, here in the US of A we also get to elect other leaders besides a President.
But unfortunately they don't have as much power as they used to, because President Signing Statement thinks he can interpret any law as he sees fit... Congress, the Constitution and rule of law be damned.

I'm with you JB. A Senator Easley would draw a distinction between NC and Miss. currently lacking with our senatorial representation.
