Steve Rushin's SI column this week is about yo mama insults. As I wrote long ago in a column for the Rhino Times, as a youth I asked my father why people responded so strongly to insults to their mothers. Was it explained by sociology, economics, genetics...?

"Son," my father replied wearily. "They're just looking for another excuse to kick your ass."

I do miss my dad.

I miss him too. No one has ever again called upon my Wookie power from our old Urchin Society. Lisa was apt to remind you, of that I read in an earlier post, of the age comparison between your fathers death and his father. Personally, I hope to aquire the age and exemplary quality of life your father experienced and would be blessed to have that of your grandfathers. I know you are carring the torch with your children.
