Dave thought the Sopranos "sucked" last night. Why? He didn't say. We liked it very much at our house. Tony is beset by thoughts of mortality and morality. He softens on a deal, listens to a scientist and a preacher, quotes Ojibwe wisdom, and counsels Paulie -- but still seems ready to remain a mob boss. It's a new kind of tension for Tony, although Carmela has dealt with it in the past -- now he's pondering deep stuff, and she's telling him to watch his lieutenants who may underpay...plus the rapper subplot was pretty fresh. I think Boyd was right, and this slow-starting season is rounding into form.
