The N&R opinion section ledes with Peggy Noonan's maudlin, month-old America-is-broken piece, and also runs a Giles Lambertson column saying how great is that same Noonan dirge.
The intellectual flaw behind Noonan's article is that if you are paying attention, the good and true things are always teetering close to the edge. Some times are more parlous than others to be sure, and these are them, but I'm not buying the gloom she's selling.
