Bill Cobey thinks the road to GOP gubernatorial nomination runs pretty far to the right: "North Carolina will not stand idly by while a small, but vocal group tries to push their radical gay agenda on the rest of us... I also stand with President Bush for the need to end this nonsense once and for all with a Constitutional amendment on this issue...If Congress canÃt get it done, weÃll start the process right here in North Carolina. When I am elected governor, there will be no gay marriages in North Carolina.î
His position may be different from other candidates in tone and emphasis more than substance, but tone and emphasis matter, too.
