A classic example of where we allow corporations to privatize their profits and socialize the costs. We have the best government corporate money can buy. Seems too simple to me - let the stockholders pay to clean up the Duke Energy fly ash waste dumps from their dividend cash flow stream.

Years ago I worked through several regulatory and compliance issues with DEHNR while at a private company. Apparently, large corporations now own the administration, state legislature and DEHNR leadership and dictate how they choose to operate ignoring responsible stewardship of the environment and both the operational impact and potential impact of their behavior.
