Some progress: "The decision to release the legal memo to the Intelligence Committees came under pressure, two days after a bipartisan group of 11 senators joined a growing chorus asking for more information about the legal justification for targeted killings, especially of Americans."

I have to wonder... Does Obama and/or his staff watch John Stewart?
He can get to the truth of the matter more succinctly than all of the other info providers combined and entertain in the process.
What a stupid and dangerous policy.

"and some R's on the Hill are ok with said policy"
Yeah. i disagree with them, but at least they're consistent.
but, what do you say about an admin that investigated the CIA over water boarding yet thinks it's "legal, ethical, and wise" to assassinate fellow citizens?
and the libs/progressives, as exemplified by so many on this board, are mute. crickets. nada.
for fun go back and reread this thread about O's executive order to close guantanamo NLT 1.22.2010.

I think it's pretty sorry. I'm all for getting the bad guys with water boarding, drones, or whatever it takes. It needs to be done right with good intellignce and due process.

"John Brennan, President Obama’s nominee to lead the CIA, said today that he finds waterboarding “reprehensible” and that if he gets the job as top spymaster, it will “never” come back."
"The White House said on Tuesday that US drone strikes on potential terrorist targets were ‘legal,’ ‘ethical’ and ‘wise’ and would continue."

GWB's "preemptive" wars = obama's "kinda imminent threat" drone strikes
kinda... the casualty numbers are much less for the latter, though that doesn't make it any more righteous of a policy.
