UPDATE: Nancy Vaughan has asked the City Manager to look into this. City Attorney to check on legality under bad new state law. And I'm told university leaders in GSO now in the loop. /update
I hear wheels are turning on the belated effort to get GSO and its public universities involved in the NC high-speed internet initiative.
Hope we can get on board. If not, we need to figure out a way to do it ourselves.
It's been suggested that maybe only top-tier research universities are invited. If so, A&T and UNCG need to work the UNC system to get theirs, or else the gap between state schools will only widen. Also, municipalities are listed as participants, including a couple that don't have major research universities.

Awesome advocacy Ed.
