Ben Holder reports that all phone calls to the City are recorded, even though callers are not advised of that fact.
Not necessarily a huge deal -- we're all used to having our calls to businesses recorded, and public business is public -- but it seems like they'd at least tell you they were doing it.
IIRC NC law requires both parties to be aware that a phone call is being recorded. UPDATE: IDRC.
So, first, is this report accurate? And if so, what's the purpose of the recordings, and why don't they tell callers they're being recorded?
...And, Ben says he's heard from a couple of Councilmembers, and the taping will stop.
So, what up with all that?
