My first reaction to this story was, Hey, where's GSO's nanotech venture, but reader P emails to say it may benefit us in any case: "Although State will drive the process, my experience in grad school on another breakthrough technology tells me there will be participation and sharing with A&T, and probably UNC-G. This should be good for the Triad." 

In any case, a rising tide of funding and business involvement in the field would seem to be good news for our new venture.
