Joe Guarino, one of Greensboro's longest-running and most prolific bloggers, is hanging up his keyboard.
He made high-volume blogging look easy, which it's not.

Time to hammer down on the rest of these cretins.

"Time to hammer down on the rest of these cretins."
Let's start with you, gilligan.

Great job, wingman.

"Great job, wingman."
How would you know?
No one has been stupid enough to ask you to provide those services, and no one has asked to do those services for you.

Saddest day ever.

Joe gives good material.

You're right, Bubba. I do not require, nor has anyone offered, the services of an incurious and ineffectual sycophant.

Instead, you play the more than willing Twink Toad.

Why does Joe want to shut it down altogether? Is he not proud of his seven-year record of work?

The juvenile back and forth often displayed here makes local politics look even more pathetic than it appears up close in real life. I'm rather apolitical myself, a product of overexposure to thieves, rubes and charlatans for twenty years. That said, I always liked the way Guarino handles his business.

he handled his business like a sociopath -- cold, emotionless, guilt free while gutting anything humane outside of his purview.

What does that even mean? Excuse us for not being genuine. I guess if it ain't captured by the fish eye lens, it ain't real. Poseur.

Oh please cry me a river for the tortured photojournalist. I'll take my friend Bubba every time over some burned out smugly apathetic pseudo-pro safely perched above it all. What you're seeing ain't wrestling, but democracy in action.

Spoken like a closet bigot, racist, misogynist, hypocrite and coward.

Let me tell you about real life, Pittman. You ain't got the stones to play this game. So, go back to your little collegial echo chamber where you pretend how tough you got it. And when the end comes, we'll replace you like a light bulb.

Settle down, Beavis.
Posted by: Lenslinger | Apr 19, 2012 at 08:23 AM
Excuse me, but Beavis doesn't spend his days taking positions and deconstructing the opposition. Beavis doesn't care deeply what happens to his neighbors and the rest of humankind. More to the point, I don't make my living as part of a dying industry which has abdicated its responsibility to do these very things. Nor do I spend my nights reveling in the arcane details of said industry with other captured souls who know what they are part of stinks, but lack the courage to do anything about it.

Fec, your stench is rising. Dusting with powdered garden lime usually helps.

Thanks for this post, Ed. And I appreciate the kind words and sentiments from some of the commenters above.
I will be doing a weekly column in the online Greensboro Guardian starting real soon.

Fec,
You remain delightfully unhinged. I find your deconstruction of me entertaining, as I've never been one to pay for therapy. But I fear I won't make for a very good sparring partner here, as I lack the deep reservoir of vitriol and self-hatred to keep up with your rants. By the way, I'm ordering new business cards with 'smugly apathetic pseudo-pro' printed on them. LOVE that!

You are welcome.
