Your attention please: Calling Fred! Calling Fred!

Fred Gregory

Hello Billy,

Here I am coming to mock you.

This another extreme hysterical eviro-whacko stunt. In Dec. EPA told Dimock residents ( all FOUR families ) water is safe and stopped the short lived water delivery . Now the water truck is back. A strange reversal. Politics playing a role, ya think ?.. Just as it did with the non-permitting of Keystone XL. Obama is a tool who wants us to be Flintsone vegans. Do really want to freeze in the dark or pay $10.00 a Gal. for gasoline ?

Voting for the Stone Age

"Some would argue that these opponents aren’t anti-energy, they just want to shift energy use from fossil fuels to “green” energy like wind and solar. This is either disingenuous or unbelievably naive. The Keystone XL pipeline would have single-handedly carried more energy to the United States than the sum of all the green energy projects funded by the Obama Administration. And it would have done so entirely with private funds rather than the Administrations increasingly ill-fated and ham-handed attempts at venture capitalism with taxpayer funds. The fact of the matter is that, for the foreseeable future, opposing fossil fuels is equivalent to opposing energy use..."

Ed Cone

Yeah, I'm against energy use. Thank goodness for this hand-cranked computer.

Many North Carolinians are questioning the rush to drill for gas here, for reasons that include questions about potential environmental hazards, and also outdated regulations, water usage, the current soft market for gas, etc.

Why not just talk to us, Fred, rather than tell us we're crazy and snip another opinion piece rebutting arguments nobody here is making?

bubba

"Yeah, I'm against energy use."

Of course not.

You're just against the safe, cost effective use of emerging energy technology to solve a problem created by years of energy tail-chasing brought to us by the enviro movement.

Billy Jones

Hence the need to reduce the natural gas glut so that fracking remains profitable. Hilarious, they drilled themselves into a hole!

Fred Gregory

"Why not just talk to us, Fred, rather than tell us we're crazy and snip another opinion piece rebutting arguments nobody here is making?" Ed Cone

Crazy, well I don't think I exactly said that. However Robert J. Samuelson said in the Washington Post that Obama's rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline was an acy of national insanity. If you are on that train and the shoe fits ..wear it.

As for rebutting arguments that " no one here is making ".

Ed for over a year you have posted snipets from the media about the evils/dangers of fracking. Over 60 at last count . I've lost track. And YES for the most part your kool aid drinking Amen chorus has made pathetically mindless and disengenuous arguments supporting your irrational obsession. Some of these misguided idealists really believe in stopping every effort to extract newly found fossil fuels and naively worship the epically failed green alternatives.

This is aimed at some of those dubious claims made here.

"The “science” behind the opposition to fracking has been amazingly similar to that behind global warming alarmism. Global warming supporters count on ignorance when they try to blame modern droughts on CO2, hoping folks will forget much worse droughts in the 1930′s when Co2 was at a supposedly “safe” level. Similarly, there have been examples of methane in drinking water for decades, but because this fact was never widely publicized, fracking opponents can count on this ignorance to try to blame this long-existing effect on recent fracking. "

"Hence the need to reduce the natural gas glut so that fracking remains profitable. Hilarious, they drilled themselves into a hole!"

So there's no need to regulate the process out of existence, let alone adopt knee-jerked perfunctory regulation to satisfy the hysterics.

Thanks for making that obvious, Billy.
