More government regulations! I thought government regulations weren't necessary because frackers were doing a fantastic job of regulating themselves!!!

Rumor has it that the big fracking players are silently OK with regulations because they don't want to risk really tough regs or the political backlash when some half-assed fracker triggers a disaster.

In other words, they want the regs to codify what they're doing already and to let the feds chase the little guys.
