Now, apparently, you laugh, or at least snicker.
I was disappointed that the Times, explainer of all things simple, would run the headline "This Year's Hot TV Trend is Anatomically Correct" without pointing out that at least some of the references seem to be to the vulva.
It's healthy for a culture to overcome its squeamishness about clinical names for female anatomy, but once the shock value of hearing them on network teevee wears off people might have to go back to writing actual jokes.

I think our definition of what is edgy has changed. Remember the hoopla over the things that came out of Archie Bunker's mouth? A lot of it wouldn't make it to air these days. But that was using words with a purpose, not just shouting "vajayjay!" and waiting for a laugh.

Well, in fairness to Sarah, she was MOCKING the notion of shouting "vajayjay!" and waiting for a laugh. But yes.
