I invoked this old commercial during a coffee break at a recent meeting, but nobody else knew what I was talking about.
When I am drooling into my gruel and no longer remember my children's names, I will still know my '70s television.
And all the words to Rapper's Delight.
Previously: Hooray for Valleydale.

I remember it, too. In fact, I can't see a jar of Coffee Mate without thinking of it. Even though I've never bought a jar of Coffee Mate. Does that make it a good ad or a bad ad?

Funny, I almost made a reference to knowing the classics, and the first comment is from a classics professor.
I've never bought the stuff, either, definitely was not the target demographic at the time...but, as my unfortunate colleagues learned, I also am incapable of seeing it without thinking of that ad.

Did he ever explain what he was going to use Al's apartment for?

"Have you ever went over a friend's house to eat/and the food just ain't no good?
I mean the macaroni's soggy/ the peas are mushed
/and the chicken tastes like wood?"
From the days when eight year olds could relate to rap lyrics. They name-checked brands, but it was Kaopectate.

"It's popping the lid right off the popper!" - Me, quoting Orville Redenbacher every time I pop corn on the stove, which is most days.
