Jorge Luis Borges is trending on Twitter, on what would be his 112th birthday.
I half expect to see myself walking the dog when I drive to work in the morning; if I ever meet a younger Me, maybe I should tell him to read less Borges.
Here's a brief audio clip of Jerry Garcia relating his own near-death experience to a Borges story, while mispronouncing "Borges."

Can't imagine wishing I'd read less Borges if that was your point. On the other hand, I didn't discover him until I was past 60.
Great Garia clip.

Like the Doo Da Man once told me, "You've got to play your hand". Sometimes your cards ain't worth a damn, if you don't lay them down.

CB, I was just saying that my dog-walk reverie was Borges-induced, not that it's a bad thing...

Ed, In case you haven't seen this one - http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2011/aug/24/jorge-luis-borges-google-doodle.
Have you read "Seven Nights" - the short book of public lectures he gave in Buenos Aires?
