News Corp to shutter News of the World.
Kind of a big deal: "The News of the World is the U.K.'s best-selling Sunday paper, with an average circulation of 3.7 million people, according to analysis firm TGI. It is one of News Corp.'s four major U.K. newspaper titles, the others being The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times."
I guess this means the phone-hacking story is even worse than we yet know.

The cops better hurry and grab those hard drives before all the references to "Rupert says OK" are trashed.
It does seem a thoroughly evasive act. Seems unlikely to make it all go away, though, especially since Cameron is being hounded on the issue.

Interesting contrast to our own reaction to scandal is how amazingly fast the Brits circled around this issue with universal outrage and condemnation. On Monday it breaks, the plug pulled on Sunday.
