This weeks FYI from the City Manager is bursting with wonky goodness.
How necessary is all that road construction going to be to in making the White Street landfill fully functional? Because it looks expensive (p. 16).
How's that budget shaping up? Lots to chew on there, starting on p. 4, but let's start with this alarming news: "For every 1 cent the County tax rate is increased, the estimated impact to the City of Greensboro is approximately $300,000."
So the proposed County tax hike would cost GSO about $2 million.
Why? A jump in County property tax revenue would increase its share of total tax revenue from all entities within the County, and local option sales tax revenue is divvied up on according to each entity's share of total tax revenue.
And in news that has already been widely discussed, misreported, and corrected, the RFP committee will recommend Greensboro Farmer's Market, Inc. to run the Curb Market.
