Good to hear from the tolerant one. Guess I'm guilty of being a Coliseum loving Presbyterian, oh the shame.

James

The Constitution Party appears to have gotten its oh-so-sacred documents confused. Better to call it The Revisionist History Bible Party and be done with it. Of course, they could all just read Jesus Swept and get the real story straight.

Mick

Out of morbid curiosity and perhaps ignorance... what has Zach Matheny done to be compared to "one specific C4GC founder"?

bubba

"Out of morbid curiosity and perhaps ignorance... what has Zach Matheny done to be compared to 'one specific C4GC founder'?"

Your guess was right. Go back and read sentence three again for comprehension, and link the material to what was said in parentheses (those funny little round brackets, as used here) immediately following.

See how easy that was?

Mick

Nope. What is the comparison Bubba.

Tony Wilkins

I don't understand that comparison either. Anybody?

Drew Gibson

I assume that

"Some have been friends, supporters and confidantes of City Councilman Zack Matheny. (In fact, it would be extremely ironic if these particular folks were among those who were hyperconcerned about the past of one specific C4GC founder.)"

translates to

"I think that the people who are fans of Zack Matheny are also the people who were spreading rumors about Riddleberger."

HJ

But it wasn't a rumor about Riddleberger. Court records, you know. Is Zack's file clean? I guess that's the implication.

bubba

"I think that the people who are fans of Zack Matheny are also the people who were spreading rumors about Riddleberger."

....is not an accurate statement, as can be understood by the "(In fact, it would be extremely ironic if these particular folks were among those who were hyperconcerned about the past of one specific C4GC founder)" portion of the comment, but you came closer than the others.

Mick

Tell us Bubba. What do you think Joe means by that statement. Of course Joe could save your ass and do it himself.

Andrew Brod

I read it the way HJ did. The innuendoed irony is that Zack has a record, or a past, or something.

Well, given that this odd episode has shown me how to find people's criminal records at the DOC website, I just checked up on Zack. Nothing there.

Then what could it be? Maybe Zack knows where Jimmy Hoffa is buried or who killed Vince Foster. Maybe he introduced Monica to Bill or Rielle to John. Any other guesses?

Mick

But he wont. For what it is worth, here is Joe's non-response to my request for an explanation....

"There is no precise, exact comparison, Mick; but I really cannot offer a detailed explanation here, and there is no need to do so." Joe Gaurino

Ed Cone

The N&R's glancing coverage of this whole story is strange to me.

The intraparty struggles of the GOP are huge national news, and here's the local version.

It's like the folks on Market Street are so busy holding their noses at the personal stuff that they're missing the substance.

Kim

just a whisper campaign, shh

David Hoggard

As despicable and incredible as Joe's off the rails innuendo is his mean-like-a-Pekingese interpreter and apologist.

Since neither of them is apparently going to offer an explanation, I'm going with the Methany/Hoffa angle

Fec

My old blog dies in four days and there are some unsubstantiated allegations about Methany to be found there, such as him being the ancestor of a revolutionary war traitor in Cleveland County. If that is not sufficient, perhaps I could make something else up. That appears to be the problem with local Christofascists: no creativity.

Fec

Also soon to be gone forever is an hilarious post about Pepe Guarino, the bedwetter.

Fec

However, my fave was Robbie Perkins as the bastard son of GHWB and a hermaphroditic midget stripper. Good times.

Stephen

Funny, I sent the link to "Fink Methany" to a friend last week. I'll have to copy/paste a few of those yarns tomorrow.

bubba

God help me, I LOVE the smell of hysteria on a blog in the evening.

Fec

One paragraph of fiction in an otherwise true account.

A. C.

I'm sure the local group of Christian theocrats view Zack Matheny as a threat. He is college educated, intelligent, and capable of thinking outside of the box. He did not receive his "education" from hours of listening to Glenn Beck, reading chain-mail and The Bible.

Mick

So Bubba... you got nuthin? Just gonna let Joe stew in his own bullshit tonight, huh? Good choice. A sentence or two too late but still a good choice.

Jim Langer

I see the Constitution Party is pro-epidemic.
