Nic Brown will read from his new book, Floodmarkers, 4 PM Saturday July 18, at the Glenwood Community Bookshop on Grove Street.
One critic calls it "a beautiful depiction of contemporary Southern life in a small town -- a compassionate portrait of hopeful, striving people (plus the sex, drugs, and hurricane.)"

Since the cBS website keeps deleting my comments, I'll pose them here, even though Ed hasn't posted about it.
Walter Cronkite cost America the Vietnam War, and in turn sent America down the road it has currently become, with our civil liberties being taken away daily and socialism becoming the norm. That Cronkite was the most trusted voice shows just how much dangerous influence the liberal media has over our citizens, and how gullible they are. Anyone who managed to survive Vietnam should visit the final resting place of Cronkite and "water the flowers", so to speak.
The sooner I can say this about Dan Rather, Tom Brokaw, Brian Williams, Katie Couric, Keith Olbermann and the rest of the liberal media ilk, the better.

Oh, but he has, in his usual link-sausage way.
BTW, if you are seeking safe refuge from comment-deleters, this might not be the best place.
