Smells like Perot, but you never know. Americans loves a comeback, love to see someone spit in the eye of conventional wisdom. Barring some bad hidden reasons for her departure, I wouldn't call her toast.

Oh, it gets worse. Alaska's Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski issued a surprisingly harsh statement late on Friday, ripping Gov. Sarah Palin's decision to leave office at the end of the month. "I am deeply disappointed that the Governor has decided to abandon the State and her constituents before her term has concluded," Murkowski wrote.
Cons like Matalin and Kristol can try and spin this like a top, but any sane person can see this just doesn't add up. Plus, Palin just proved how big of a hypocrite she is. That always helps win elections.

What Sarah Palin has done is pure genius. She can only generate so much attention in Alaska, and while she is attacked daily from liberal psychos she can't always count on a Letterman attack or the like to get her name out there. I bet she's going to go on a media blitz and campaign the likes we haven't seen, and hopefully for every time Obama is mentioned on the news, so will Palin.
I had trouble voting for her last year, since McCain is the definition of RINO. But Palin leadig a ticket is an absolute no-brainer for me, and I imagine a good portion of the country will agree. Run the polls, Palin vs. Obama today is a landslide Palin win. I bet she'll obliterate thefundraising records set by Obama, provided Obama doesn't bankrupt us all by then. (Wouldn't that be an interesting campaign strategy?!)
