Mr. Dobson took issue with a litany of Sen. McCain's positions, including support for embryonic-stem-cell research and opposition to a Constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage. Those stances, plus Sen. McCain's discussion of global warming and his push to outlaw torture and shut down the U.S. prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, have "frustrated" conservatives "whom McCain seems to have written off," Mr. Dobson said.

These are the litmus tests for conservatism? No wonder the movement is in trouble.

Even though I agree with Dobson on stem cells and Guantanamo, there's just something about him ... I guess he is my own private Dr. Fell.

I guess the link I posted doesn't work. It was supposed to go to a poem written by Tom Brown about his dean at Oxford, the clergyman John Fell:

I do not like thee, Doctor Fell,
The reason why I cannot tell;
But this I know, and know full well,
I do not like thee, Doctor Fell.
