Dec 31, 2007

Spent most of the last day of 2007 outdoors.

The much-needed rain had the Haw running high through some bottomland just downstream from the Haw River State Park.

I have seen several Haw River cabins and farm houses with this type of outdoor fireplace added to the main chimney.

If Bluegreen's contract/option with the three property owners has expired then we can look forward in 2008 to the property owners and NCDENR reaching a fair agreement so that the Haw River State Park can expand and also protect this important section of the Haw River.
