Hey, did you hear about these newfangled blog thingies? They suck! Unless you are a newspaper editorialist in seach of easy generalizations and an evergreen column subject. Then blogs can come in handy.

I think Rago has some points about the negatives of blogs, but it is a biased piece. He highlights the strong points of newspapers and weak points of blogs, completely ignoring the weak points of newspapers and the strengths of blogs. The most important being that often newspapers need reporters with little first-hand knowledge about a subject to write articles, while blogs allow people who are directly affected to report more facts - through video or pictures taken by bloggers - and also to get a better idea of real reactions and attitudes.
A lot of blog posts jump to conclusions, and there is the "gotcha" mentality, and many of the same arguments rehashed ad nauseum.
