I got a lot out of Bill Wood's social networking session at ConvergeSouth. He knew his stuff, and there were a lot of students in the room, which helped ground the conversation in a real user community. Also, there was a guy at one of the front tables, I think someone said he was an A&T prof, who helped out by making sure that younger people had space to talk and to finish their remarks.
I heard a lot that reminded me of this talk by Danah Boyd, which I guess speaks well for both the sesson and Danah.
Yup, that was an excellent session and Bill Wood was a great leader/moderator.
