What strikes me as somewhat hypocritical is that all us or our families "immigrated" to this country at some point and time. I just don't understand the "fear" of illegal immigrants. One of the best movies I've ever seen is "a day without a Mexican." I recommend anyone who isn't Hispanic, or related to someone that is, watch this movie, it may be an eye-opener.

It's not necessarily hypocritical for the descendants of immigrants to argue in favor of regulated and legal immigration. There are advantages to our society, and for immigrants, in legal immigration.

And why aren't businesses punished more? They're the chief lure to people coming here. Stiff penalties for them may not resolve the immigrants already here, but it would help resolve the long term problem, to a manageable level.
